Christmas Mass times – For information we have now set the mass times for the Christmas period.

  • Christmas Eve 24th December – 8pm mass at both St. Cuthbert’s and Our Lady’s (8pm carols, mass commences at 8.30pm)
  • Christmas Day 25th December – 10am mass at both St. Cuthbert’s and Our Lady’s
  • New Years Day 1st January – 9.30am mass at St. Cuthbert’s and 11.30 mass at Our Lady’s

Special Collection.

Catholic Education Week celebrates the importance of educating children and young people in the Faith. There will be a special collection next Sunday for the work of the Scottish Catholic Education Service which promotes and supports Catholic Education. The Archdiocesan Mass for pupils and teachers will be celebrated by Archbishop Cushley in St Mary’s Cathedral on Tuesday 25 November at 11:00am. Please keep teachers, school staff, parents and pupils in your prayers.

Prisoners & Homeless collection

Both parishes will be collecting for Prisoners Children (1st 2 weeks of advent from 30th November) and then the Homeless, supporting St. Catherines at Lauriston (Last 2 weeks). Please leave gifts at the back of the church and note for the prisoners children do not wrap any gifts.

Archbishop Leo invites Young Adults across the Archdiocese for Mass on the Feast of Christ the King, Sunday 23 November at 7:00pm, in the Jesuit Church of the Sacred Heart, 26 Lauriston Street, Edinburgh.

Mass Bookings.

We are reminded that the booking of mass for our special intentions, wedding anniversaries, Birthday thanksgiving, Death anniversaries of our loved ones and general prayers is highly recommended. The mass stipends (Donations) are part of our contribution towards the good of the church and support of our priest.

 

SSVP Update: 

Thanks to all who attended our tea/coffee & Quiz in June. Special
thanks to all helpers especially Quiz Master extraordinaire, Ciaran Duffy who ran the quiz just before heading off to support the Lourdes pilgrimage. Our annual Healing Mass is on Friday, 28th November with food & drink and hopefully entertainment in the afterwards. Children’s Liturgy:

If anyone would like to join the rota for children’s liturgy. They can contact Anne Robertson on 07538775156, male or female, with or without children. It’s only around 8-9 Sundays in the year and very flexible. 

 

St Andrews’s Night.

Tickets are on sale now for our event on the 28th November at St. Cuthbert’s Hall where we will be raising funds for our 2 parish charities, Fight Against Cancer Edinburgh (FACE) and the St. Jude’s school project in Nigeria. Please come along and enjoy the night and support our fundraising!
