Lourdes 2025.

Special Collection:

The Sisters of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary will be visiting our Parishes this weekend (26th/27th April). They will be soliciting for our assistance in their work of charity. As a result, there will be a special second collection and we are encouraged to kindly support them.

The Archdiocesan Requiem Mass for Pope Francis

Takes place at St Mary’s Cathedral, Edinburgh, this Monday (28 April) at 12:45pm. Everyone is warmly invited to attend and pray together for the repose of the soul of the Holy Father.

Catechism classes.

The last session for this year’s catechism classes will commence next weekend (Saturday, 1st May). This Class will be for the candidates preparing for the sacrament of the first Holy Communion. The class starts at 3pm at the presbytery of St Cuthbert’s Parish.

Assisted Suicide Public Meeting – Edinburgh Southern Parish

MSP Daniel Johnson is hosting a discussion on assisted suicide: Wednesday 7 May, 6.30pm at The Nucleus Building, King’s Buildings, Larch Lecture Theatre, EH9 3FG. With a vote due at Holyrood, it’s vital we show that the vulnerable need assisted living – not assisted suicide. Dr Gillian Wright, a former palliative care doctor, will be speaking. Mass Bookings.

We are reminded that the booking of mass for our special intentions, wedding anniversaries, Birthday thanksgiving, Death anniversaries of our loved ones and general prayers is highly recommended. The mass stipends (Donations) are part of our contribution towards the good of the church and support of our priest.

No Mass on Friday 2nd of May.

On Friday, the 2bd of May we shall have the school mass at St Cuthbert by 9,30am, as a result, there will be NO MASS here at Our Lady’s.

May Devotion to Our Lady.

The month of May is a special month here in our parish, traditionally, we bring our flowers every Sunday for the decoration of our lady’s altar and we would usually sing our special hymns in honour of our Lady. So from next week, let us bring our flowers.

Parish Extra-Ordinary Eucharistic Minister.

May all parish Extra-ordinary Eucharistic ministers kindly wait briefly after mass today for an important information.

CALL TO GLORY

The late Maureen Roy. Let us pray for the happy repose of the soul of the Late Mrs. Maureen Roy. She died at the age of 94. Until her death, she was a very active member of our parish before she became housebound. Her funeral will be on Wednesday 30 April at 10am prompt.

The late Patricia Donaldson. Let us also pray for the happy repose of the soul of the Late Patricia (PAT) Donaldson who has just recently passed onto glory. Her funeral will be on the Tuesday, 6th of May at 11am. May her soul rest in peace, Amen.
