PARISH UPDATES:

A wee break for Fr Francis.

Fr Francis will be away from the 8th of August for a ten-day break. There will not be daily morning masses until he returns. Sunday Weekend masses will be as usual.

World Day for Grandparents & the Elderly –

To celebrate this day, the National Marriage, Family and Life Commission of the Bishops’ Conference of Scotland invites everyone to St Francis Xavier’s in Carfin for Mass with Bishop John Keenan at 3:00pm on Sunday 27 July.

Faith in the Footlights:

Tuesday 12 August at 7:30pm – Join renowned author Ian Bradley and the Cathedral’s Schola Cantorum for a concert exploring the spiritual resonances of musical theatre. Save the date –

A relic of Carlo Acutis, soon to be canonised by Pope Leo, visits the archdiocese from 13-15 September 2025, by which time he will be a saint of the Church. Details to follow.

Mass Bookings.

We are reminded that the booking of mass for our special intentions, wedding anniversaries, Birthday thanksgiving, Death anniversaries of our loved ones and general prayers is highly recommended. The mass stipends (Donations) are part of our contribution towards the good of the church and support of our priest.

FINAL REQUEST – Sacristan role –

As announced at Mass, Jim Vasey our Sacristan, will sadly be leaving the parish shortly. We now have a few parishioners who have volunteered to share the role. If you want to join the team sharing the role as Sacristan, please let Father Francis or one of the Parish Council members know if you are interested.
